Beauregard High School

The Beauregard High School Band in Washington D.C.

The Beauregard High School Band is one of two musical organizations available to students at Beauregard High School. The band program is built around a competitive marching band and a concert band that regularly participates in Alabama Bandmasters Association (ABA) events such as Music Performance Assessment (MPA). In addition, other ensembles are formed as needed for specific programs, etc.

As well as large group participation, students in the band program participate in individual activities to include honor bands offered by the ABA and various colleges and universities in the area. Students from Beauregard High School have participated in the ABA District VI Honor Band, the Auburn University Honor Band, and the Southeastern United States Band Clinic and Honor Bands hosted at Troy University. In addition, and the Alabama Band Masters Association All-State Band. Each year, BHS has a number of students participate in the ABA District VI Solo and Ensemble Festival.

The band director at Beauregard High School is John M. Hillsman. Mr. Hillsman is currently in his 38th year of teaching with this year marking his eighth as the band director at Beauregard.
